The mix shifts dramatically with material, volume, and complexity. Some patterns we see often:
Aluminum prototype (qty 5)
Setup dominates at low volume. Material is cheap; machine time is short. Inspection minimal.
Stainless production (qty 500)
Setup amortized. Material moves up because stainless costs more. Cycle time per part dominates.
Titanium aerospace FAI (qty 50)
Material is the biggest single share (~45%) — titanium stock is costly. FAI inspection adds real cost; cycle time is slow.
