Quick turn, no overhead.
The Lynx is the right machine when setup speed matters more than production rate. One-and-done prototypes, customer-supplied repair parts, small lots that don’t justify SMX or twin-turret programming time — the Lynx handles them with minimal NRE.
- Prototype turning runs (1–25 pieces)
- Customer-supplied part rework / repair
- Small bushings, spacers, washers
- Test-and-validate cycles before production runs migrate to bigger lathes
02 · When NOT to pick this
Wrong-fit jobs.
- Bar > 2.5″ → Daewoo Puma 12S (3.0″) or Doosan SMX (3.0″).
- Production volume > 50 pieces → Doosan TT1800SY or Mori Seiki NL2500SY.
- Cross-feature work → Live-tool turn-mill (NL2500SY or SMX).
- L:D > 4 small-diameter → Tsugami Swiss.
