Haas VF-6 — what we run on it.
The shop’s largest envelope vertical mill — 64″ × 32″ × 30″ with HA5C 4th axis. Used for long plate, weldments, fixtures, and any part that doesn’t fit on the DNM-4500-S or the Mytrunnion 4G.

01 · Sweet spot
When the part is just bigger.
The VF-6 is what we reach for when X travel matters. 64 inches of X is enough for long structural plate, weldments needing post-weld machining, large fixtures, and aerospace stringers or bulkheads that don’t fit on a smaller mill.

02 · When NOT to pick this
Wrong-fit jobs.
- Tight-tolerance work (0.0001″ class) → Makino S56 or Wire EDM.
- 5-axis simultaneous → Kitamura Mytrunnion 4G or DVF 5000.
- Lights-out volume production → DVF 5000 with pallet pool.
- Small / detailed precision parts → DNM-4500-S or Makino.
